White Birch

We are forecast to have one of the coldest nights so far this season.  Wouldn't you know my Public Broadcasting station is airing a program on the Greely expedition!    I turned off the TV.  Think I'll suggest that during the months of January and February PBS broadcasts in the Northwoods should only be about warm things.  Maybe something we can look forward to like planting flowers, swimming/snorkeling, or counting frogs in a swamp.   PBS should reair Rick Steves hiking through Tuscany or island hopping in the Greek isles.  Better yet send the guy on new trips through the Atlas Mountains of Morocco or floating down the Nile.   The classic movie of the week should be Lawrence of Arabia, Body Heat, or Field of Dreams.  Thinking about it though, I do really enjoy winter.   The issue probably is more that I don't want to listen to an hour of anyone suffering through frigid conditions - no matter the season.
