Snowstorm

I heard yesterday that a storm was coming this way.  I'd been around the house a few times so I knew everything was in for the winter and the deck furniture that rocks was moved far enough away from the building.  I checked the bird feeders to see that they were full.  Spray painted red the top of the post that keeps the garden pole in place - just to make it a little more obvious to my plow guy should we get enough snow for him to plow.  The snow began sometime after midnight and as you can see from the picture we hadn't gotten very much by the time I set out for church which is 30 some miles away.  However the snow was coming down so heavy I couldn't see very well.  Then a deer jumped out on the road.  She couldn't get her footing on the road and my stepping on the breaks wasn't stopping the car.  We were both going slow enough that we managed to miss each other.  I finally gave up  trying to make it when I got to a town a little less than half way.   I was thinking if something happened to my car the shortage of new/used/rental cars would make it difficult to pick up another.  Of course, it could also be I'm just getting older ... and a little wiser.

Good call! I don't like driving in heavy snowy conditions either.
