Snow on the Crabapple
Took some coaxing to get Whip out the door this morning. The wind was blowing at 25 - 40 m/p/h. out of the north and had made a ridge of snow right in front of the door. Once out she did a few full body shakes and we started our constitutional. The wind was flinging yesterdays snow straight at us. (Another reason to wear layers of clothing in the winter . The snow finding a way in past a zipper or button hole was stopped by the layer of clothing beneath.) The temp is in the teens and expected to only fall further throughout the day. On the way back home, I let Whip off the leash. She likes to nose around and travel at her own pace. Today her pace was a full run back to the front door. I stopped off at Sleipnir to turn off the outside lights. The motion sensor lights seem to snap on more often on windy nights and they had been on constantly last night. By the time I got to the front door, Whip was dancing around and anxious to get back in. She accepted her treat and curled up back in her bed. (Not a bad idea.) I'll wake her again in a couple of hours and we'll repeat it all again.
