Snow started in the late afternoon. By the time of the nightly constitutional, Whip was walking through snow up to her belly and about halfway out just turned around and went back to the house. It snowed through the night and ended just before morning. Whip followed in my wake as I slogged through the drifts to Mjolnir and Sleipnir, back to Haven, and decided that was constitutional enough for the morning. The drifts on the deck were up past the window sills which intrigued the cats. Figured Mr. Quinn (my plow guy) would be busy today and I'm about the end of his circuit. He arrived around 11 to plow the drive. My neighbor Anita and I decided to take off for downtown. A Christmas craft sale had taken over the Fire Department building and we both picked up a few things. Then it was off to the Village Hall where they were serving hot soup, crackers/cheese/salami, and, of course, Christmas cookies. The Hills Carolers stopped by to sung. I ran over to check my mail and saw two big work horses harnessed up and about to give hay rides through the village. Anita and I figured we were 'aired out' sufficiently and drove back home. Everyone we met today was happy and smiling - a combination of the season, making it through the storm unscathed, and the pleasures of living in a small town.

Glad to hear even a blizzard can't cancel a Christmas craft sale, lunch, carolers or a hay ride. Ha! Sounds like fun!
