Picking up frost on the morning walk
I wasn't at my most diplomatic tonight. Lost my cool w/ a patron who came into the library to check out some books and then decided to stick around and talk. He had read (Facebook) that people who go to hospitals w/ Covid actually die from infections that they pick up there and not from the virus. Also he said it wasn't worthwhile to vaccinate children since they usually don't get that sick. Afraid I told him what I thought of where he was getting his information. On top of that, I had to push him out the door precisely at our closing time of 7. Usually I let people stay a little longer as I do close up functions. However, tonight I wanted to go to the Town Board meeting which began at 7. Got there as the first meeting of the night - the Annual Financial Meeting - was just on it's final vote. That meeting ended to be immediately followed by the special meeting for voting on whether the Town should leave County Zoning. We all had a lively discussion during which, thinking back on it, I'm fairly certain I told one man his statement was "stupid". As expected the vote was for leaving County Zoning. Made a note when I got home to go to the local Funeral Home and set up my funeral plans in advance. I'm not expecting to pass on soon but at this rate, everyone in the area will want to attend in order to dance on my grave.
