Big Bluestem in morning light

A few nice days.  Don't know how many we might still have so worked outside most of the day.  Moved the little spruce that has been sitting on the deck this summer.  Didn't think I should let it's rootball completely freeze so moved it into Mjolnir until Christmas.  Hopefully I'll have a live tree for Christmas this year.  I cleaned out brother Phil's army boots.   They looked great by the front door w/ red begonias planted in them.   When I plant shoes with flowers I toss the shoes at the end of the year but Phil had pointed out these were U.S. Army issued boots and even wet and full of dirt should last more than one season.  They do look OK so I placed the boots in Sleipnir w/ the other plant pots.  Tried to remove the post that is inside the garden pole but it still isn't budging.  Mowed the lawn.  I like the grass short in winter. Discourages all of the little critters that burrow beneath the snow.  Instead they use  the cover of the tall grass in the fields for their roadways.    Best of all washed my microfiber sheets, hung them out on the clothesline to dry, and packed them away in the blanket chest.  Made the bed w/ flannel sheets and the winter quilt.  Life is good.
