Milkweed pods

I sat on the couch and wondered how at 69 I could be so naive.  The papers for Whip said she was part black lab and part golden retriever.  My neighbor said he could see the black lab but was sceptical that she had any golden in her and suggested instead pit bull.  He said the pound put those breeds in her papers to get her adopted out quickly and I fell for it.  Then there is the Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers.  I thought he must have a break-thru case of Covid since he said in an interview that he was immunized.  However, today he admitted that he'd lied (of course he didn't put it that bluntly) about being vaccinated and was instead taking animal worming medicene.  Then there's the infrastructure bill in Congress.   I figured  everyone wants bridges, roads, and trains to be in good repair, broadband access throughout the country, and clean drinking water.  Instead the Republiicans want nothing to do w/ the bill and even the Democrats are having problems passing it.  On the plus side though, Whip (whatever her parentage) is a great dog.  I already have a low opinion of most organized sports so finding out Aaron Rodgers is a coward isn't all that earth-shaking and, judging from the talking-head pundits on Sunday mornings, no one can predict what politicians will do so I'm no worse off than the rest of the country.  In a bit of hubris I even patted myself on the back that I wasn't so gullible as some to think the Earth is flat, horse dewormer can cure Covid, nor a member of QAnon which has pronounced Stones quitarist Keith Richards is really John F. Kennedy Jr. in disguise.
