The lawn hadn't been mowed in over a week - maybe two. It was beginning to look a little on the shaggy side. My HOA said not to worry, they understood, and to cut it whenever I could get around to it. My neighbors didn't mind it looking this way either - the deer liked the tender blades of grass and the ground squirell (who has an access hole in the middle of the lawn) thought a little more ground cover was great. Finally had a dry day and I was able to mow. Left a little patch of birds-foot trefoil growing on the side lawn because it looked so happy. Haven't mowed the trails yet but, if the forecast holds, can do that tomorrow. Sat on the deck tonight w/ the dog and looked around. Everything looked so nice. Think I should let the lawn go until it looks unkempt more often. Can really appreciate the difference.
