Twelve Spotted Skimmer Dragonfly

There is a story I've heard multiple times from the pulpit.  The forecast was for lots of rain and the newscaster warned to expect massive flooding.  A man's neighbors could see the nearby river was rapidly rising and knock at his door.  "We are driving to the Red Cross shelter while the roads are still open.  There is room in our car for you.   Come w/ us!"   The man shakes his head.   "My God will send a miracle to save me.  I'll stay here." he says.  The river rises into the house and the man must go to the second floor.  A police boat comes by and shouts for him to climb through his window and get into the boat.  The man shouts back, "No, my God will save me."  The boat goes off looking for other stranded victims.  The water continues to rise and the man is forced to climb out onto the roof.   Thrump, thrump, thrump overhead.  The man looks up and there is a hovering helicopter dropping a lifeline to him.  The man waves them off.  He cups his hands around his mouth and screams up, "My God will save me."  The helicopter flies away.  The flood water undermines the house,  it's swept away, and the man drowns.   Standing before the Judgement Seat, the man asks God.  "Why didn't you save me from the flood?"  God replies, "I sent you a warning, a car, a boat, and a helicopter.  What more were you looking for?"  This modern day parable came to mind as I listened to the news of the delta variant of Covid surging among unvaccinated populations.    God has sent us the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to stop the pandemic.  Some people just don't seem to want to accept His offer.

I hope you won't be too upset with me but I copied your entry and pasted it into facebook. I just called it "copied from a friend's blog".

Agreed!
And I have heard people I know tell me that God will protect them and that's why they don't think they need the Covid vaccine.
Not sure if this falls under the 'snarky' umbrella or not but I would love to ask them why do they wear a seatbelt, or get the recommended medical tests doctors prescribe? Why do they take their heart medicine or any other medicine if God will protect them?
