Received two recalls from Subaru in e-mail. Was concerned about how well my car was constructed. One recall was from the dealer where I bought my first Subaru in 2005. It was for a part that did indeed fail on my first car in 2017. So that recall was a little on the late side but I wasn't complaining - got a good 12 years out of that car and a lot of miles. The second recall notice was from the dealership where I bought my current car for a part on the A/C. Not something that necessary in the Northwoods but made an appointment for today to get it fixed. Bopped down to Collegetown early in the a.m. I should have queried how long the fix would take when I made the appointment. The check-in rep said it would be a couple of hours. I asked, "Does 'a couple of hours' mean two hours or three?" She said there were a number of factors affecting how long it would take but usually didn't take a full two hours. She went on to explain that she rounds up on hours because people are happy when it takes less time. She had a point. The car was done in 1 1/2 hours and I was indeed happy that it hadn't taken the planned two hours. That and the dealership's owner sat down in the waiting area and was regaling those of us waiting for our vehicles w/ how many cars they were getting next month, how many of those were already sold, what the hang-up was in getting more cars, how he would remedy the situation, and who in the world would spend half a million dollars on paintings done by Hunter Biden? Thinking back I can't remember what prompted the last topic but just about then is when I was told my car was ready to go.
