European Skipper butterfly

Lost electricity around 3 a.m.  Figured it would be back on by the time I got up but it wasn't.  I called in the outage to Xcel Energy and they said they were already working on it.  Time to evaluate my position.  Didn't need a flashlight, by 6 a.m. sun was already up (behind the clouds somewhere).  I have access to four toilets so wouldn't need to bring in buckets of water from the rain barrels to flush for awhile.  Could also use those rain barrels for washing up.   There was cornflakes in the pantry for breakfast.  Thought of picking berries to make them more palatable.  But... it started raining again.  Decided to unlatch the garage door, lift it manually, and drive into town to pick up something.  The village was without power also.  Drove on to the County Seat.  McD's on the edge of town had their golden arches lit up.  I picked up a latte and fritter.  Back home I scanned over my list of things-to-do.  Take another bag of fireworks refuse to the garbage can.  (I take one bag down every week.  Think I'll be done in September.)  Didn't need to water the outside flowers.  Watered the inside ones.  Fed the birds.  Rain had stopped finally so picked daylilies for the house.  Everything else on the list required electricity.   Now for entertainment.  Not really an issue when you have pets.   Taught the cats a new game - threw treats across the floor and they gave chase.   The dog and I sat out on the deck while I did a crossword puzzle.  Then we went over to Mjolnir.  Brent had made a jigsaw puzzle holder for me before he left.  Now was as good a time as any to try it out.  I moved it to the table there and broke out a puzzle.  Opened up the casement windows to catch whatever breeze there was and worked on it while Whip slept on the couch.  Got a notice from Xcel that they hoped to have the power restored by noon.  At 2:30 p.m. there still wasn't any power.  I jumped in the car and went back to the County Seat for a Subway sandwich.  When I got back home the power was restored.   Kind of enjoyed working on the puzzle so went back to Mjolnir and just sat there putting the edge pieces together.  (This time w/ the A/C blowing on me though.)

Sounds like you made good use of the downtime. Would a generator be worth the cost? Let me know what changes can be made for the puzzle board.

Would love to see a picture of your puzzle board. Sounds like a helpful thing.
