Sensitive Ferns
I smiled as the car headed into 'the bottoms'. It's just a stretch of road that passes through a swampy area connected with the creek. This sunny day the whole place was a beautiful shade of new-growth green. After a long Northwoods winter, the world looked quite happy. Lots to do today. It froze overnight so I held off until 9 a.m. to put the flowers out on the graves. Phil was with me and on the way back I swung by the town hall. I'd been putting off the task of dismantling the voting machine since it's heavy and much easier to do w/ two people. With Phil helping got that done and I could finally leave my set of keys on the clerk's desk. I grabbed the house plants I had overwintered for Aunt Ruth and ran down to their place to deliver them for the summer. Swung by town to pick up something I needed for one of this month's contest photos (I need to take two more). My neighbor brought over her granddaughter and friend who will spend a couple of days in Mjolnir during their family's get-together over Memorial Day weekend. Russell stopped by to see Phil before he has to go back home. After the last year of being careful about what we do and where we go, it's really nice to be getting back to normal activities.
