I misjudged my flowers this year. I got them a week earlier than usual and probably should have gone more w/ plants w/ buds about to open instead of getting those w/ open blooms. Memorial Day caught me w/ the pots that weren't at their showy best. I filled in w/ some of the plants I'd overwintered. Phil and I placed them out in the cemetery on Saturday morning. I was disheartened to see there were next to no real flowers there. However, when I went down this morning to check on the flowers I'd put out I was happily surprised to see more real ones dotted here and there. Realized w/ the freezing overnight temps, people must have postponed putting them outside. On Memorial Day the cemetery will still be awash w/ garish plastic crap but I know the graves where I can find someone will have placed cut flowers or potted plants.
