Flicker
Spring is often two steps forward and then a step back. You can tell that by my foyer. My brothers put up eight Shaker pegs for coats. There is my heavy winter coat. I was going to put it away but it snowed most of the afternoon and I got pretty cold. For the last constitutional w/ the dog, I wore the heavy coat. It is marvelously warm. From another two pegs hang my beloved puffy vests. I wore them most of the winter. One was suppose to be for going out on errands and one in the woods but I wore either whenever. The blaze orange windbreaker is hanging out there too. I put it away after hunting season but got it back out this spring to wear when it rains. Then there is my jersey hoodie. I used to wear it when I was milking. I got it back out this winter to throw over Whip - like a blanket. I hated thinking of her sleeping alone in the foyer this winter and figured the hoodie would smell like me plus keep her warm. There are also two pegs just for Whip's coats. She has a light cape type for cool/rainy weather and an around-the-body one for the very cold days. She's acclimated pretty well to the Northwoods. I'll pack those away soon for next winter. That leaves one peg free for a stocking cap. Have to be ready for every weather contingency for about another month.
