April Snow

After the long trek this morning, I took a shower and woke Whip up (she likes to take a nap after a walk) to go on errands w/ me.  Dropped off some books at the library.  Stopped at the Post Office to mail my tax statements - finished them in February and the Feds & State have changed the filing deadline to mid May but figured I'd better send them now or I'd forget.  Drove to the County Library.  Unlike our Village Library, the County Library remained closed much of last year and is only open by appointment now.  However, there is a separate entrance to the basement of the building.    It's just meeting rooms but volunteers have set up a used book sale in one of them (proceeds go to the county's Friends of the Library group).   Picked up a book on Egyptology, one on Relativity, and a magazine w/ an article about 'Why People Believe Conspiracy Theories' for a total of $1.50.  Stopped off on the way out of town at McD's.  Whip has learned to take the paper bag w/ her hamburger in it out of my hand but then sets it down as if she isn't sure she should open it.  I stopped before leaving the parking lot and opened it for her.  Once home I lifted the back hatch to let her out.  There on the car mat was the paper the hamburger had been wrapped in and atop that ... a slice of pickle.  Do dogs just not like pickles?

It was funny how Indy could devour the hamburger so quickly yet still spit that pickle out. Must taste awful to them.
