Spring Break is upon us. It's in the news as a COVID spreader event and my friend who lives near a beach says the area becomes inundated w/ students having fun and blowing off steam. Which got us on today's Zoom meeting to talking about what we did during our own spring breaks. We either worked, took interim classes, or went home since none of us had any extra money to spend. However we didn't regret not participating in this bacchanal rite when we were younger. At that time in our lives, we had other goals. Now that we are retired and better able to afford it, should we consider having a week of wild revelry each spring? While I can't speak for the others, staying up all night, drinking too much, and shaking sand out of my clothes doesn't appeal to me anymore now than it did then.
