After the dog barked

The sun is out and temps are just above 20 degrees.  Warm enough now that, should you make a bad mistake,  you aren't likely to die from hypothermia.   I was getting tired of my own cooking so called downtown and ordered a hamburger and salad for lunch.  The village was quite busy.  Cars were parked everywhere and snowmobiles were traveling up and down the streets.  Forgot it was the Snowmobile Club's Annual Brat & Chili feed.  Pockets of people were standing around and they all seemed to be happy to be out and about.  I drove slowly since not everyone seemed to be following the usual rules of the road, picked up my mail, and lunch.    On the way home I passed a field with beef cattle who were also reveling in the sunshine.  A few were jumping at each other in mock fights and the rest were no longer tightly bunched to keep warm.  Took Whip outside with me as I filled the bird feeders.  She nonchalantly wandered out along a snow-covered walking path.  When winter first hit, she would have been trembling at this temp.  She's becoming a northern girl.  Even further south is happy to be out of the deep freeze.  Got a message from a Texas friend that the power came back on as of five hours ago and she hadn't realized how musical was a toilet tank filling on it's own.
