At the Edge of the Woods

One of my senators appeared on a talking-heads show this morning.  I really hadn't expected to see him on the program again since his last appearance had devolved quickly into a shouting match w/ another senator.  This time he was explaining that he will be contesting the presidential election results from some states (he hasn't specified which ones) to 'protect' democracy.  He has no facts to back up his claims and then replied but lots of people think the president won.   I immediately wrote my senator an e-mail asking again that he not announce that he is from our state because it makes the rest of us here look bad.  In truth, I also mentioned Caligula's horse but I doubt he knows ancient Roman history to recognize the reference.  I was frustrated.  Then I opened the window blinds and I mouthed a "Wow".  The fog last night had given a coating of frost to everything and the whole world was outlined in white.  Grabbed the dog and we went out for a walk in a crystalline fantasy world straight out of Frozen.  By the time we returned home, my head was back at an even keel and I was happy.  Thank you God for ice and cold!
