Didn't have anything planned for today but I had made a list of my favorite things to do at Christmas time and wrote them down. First opened some gifts for the pets. The cats are a lot like little children when it comes to presents. Initially they are more fascinated w/ the boxes, wrapping paper, and string. Whip got a new coat so I put it on her to make sure it fit. Once we had figured out how to get it on, might as well take off for a walk. Whip was racing everywhere and I had on the list to go on the three mile hike through the swamp. By the time we got to the gorge though she was lifting her feet. A little too cold for her this morning so we took a shorter loop. Surprisingly, when we got home, the cats were still active. Must be the new toys were stimulating them. I put on some 50's-60's-70's music and danced around the kitchen while I made my breakfast. Some family members phoned so enjoyed catching up w/ them. Also on my list was to read the first chapters of Luke (King James Version, of course). I started a fire in the fireplace and read out loud to Blitzen who settled into my lap to listen. My list also included watching a murder mystery so I put on another Midsommer Murder episode. Had to rerun parts of it 'cause I kept nodding off. Tonight I finished my list by singing Oh Tannenbaum and Stille Nacht in German. Hope your Christmas was just as joy-filled and peaceful.
