Ring-necked pheasant

Saw this little guy coming down one of my paths.  I figure he escaped from a private hunt club last fall but am surprised that he made it through the winter.  Ring-necked pheasant are from Asia and should be able to handle our winters but usually don't.  Probably the mild winter and that there was plenty of food for not only him but also for those who would eat him acted in his favor.  W/ those colors he'll be quite noticeable until things start growing.  If he makes it that long his next issue will be finding a hen that made it through the winter too.
