Song Sparrow

After the rain came the snow.  Big flakes that collected together mid-air and splatted on the deck like messy snowballs.  A group of song sparrows came in looking for food.  I and the cats watched them dig w/ both feet in the snow.  One enterprising bird realized there were seeds in the feeder and rutted through the snow after them.  Tomorrow this snow will be gone.  Got my last bill from the snowplow guy.  Not too bad a season: his first plow was just after Thanksgiving and his last was mid February.  Eleven plows.
