1999 - Celebrate the Century - 1960's

In 1999, the Post Office published a series of stamps to celebrate each of the decades of the twentieth century.   The Post Office published a page similar to this w/ people, places, and events that shaped that decade.  For the first five decades a Post Office Citizen's Advisory Committee selected the images but for the last five decades a nationwide poll was conducted  to decide what would be on the stamps.  For the 1960's the winners were  Martin Luther King, Peace Corps, Vietnam War, Peace Symbol, Woodstock, Ford Mustang, Barbie, Lasers, Integrated Circuits, AFL-NFL, Roger Maris, and the Beatles.  Assume everyone in Green Bay voted for the Pack, every Trekkie voted for the show, and the Moon Landing was a runaway favorite.   Scott # 3188

Wish the Packers could've pulled it off this year. :-(
