Usually fall is a time when the temps fluctuate and gradually we get used to the cold. The cold snap we've had all week isn't all that frosty - only in the teens - but people coming into the library last night were commenting on the chill and every time I went outside today I could feel it too. Meanwhile the frozen ground does keep the farm machinery from getting stuck. Another week, I think, and we'll all have acclimated. Come next spring, these same temps will seem downright balmy.
