Coming back to the house after our morning constitutional I noticed that a bear had left a 'gift' during the night by my garage door. That's a bit close for comfort. I checked the bird feeders on the other two sides of the house - nope - they were all still intact and full. I do have solar lights on those sides of the house and wind chimes at either corner. Not sure if that's what kept the bear from raiding the feeders or if it was frightened off by something else. Guess I'll carry my bear spray on our nocturnal walks too - at least until the bear go into hibernation.
