Putting in the forms

 The base sand laid, out came the guys to put in the forms to hold the cement.  I didn't understand how the leveling machine worked but one of the workers happily showed me how to use it.  It's important not only to make sure the base is level but also situated higher than the driveway. Don't want water running into the garage.  The floor will be similar to the one in my house - a cement slab w/ no basement.   One big difference is I was still working in the Big City when the house was built so saw very little of the construction.  This time I have a ring-side seat for the whole show.
