The word 'island' came from the Latin word Insula and the Old English word Iegland. Though they are unrelated words they had similar meanings and in English they melded into one.
Among my errands today was to pick up a renewal on a medication. I'd called it in the day before. Once again the cost had gone up - this time another $20 in three months. The pharmacist asked if I wanted to go through my insurance for payment and I said my cost is usually higher that way so I'd pay for it myself. He looked at his computer for a moment, called over another pharmacist and said I should get a $50 refund because in his words: "the drug is stupidly priced." I freely admit no knowledge of how the cost of medication is determined but then it seems no one else does either. Celebrated the refund by getting Chinese take-out. Happy New Year!
