Watching for sunrise

Venus was obvious in the morning sky.  I looked for Mercury and Jupiter which should be just visible before sunrise.  Saw one of them but a band of clouds was in the wrong spot to see them for long.  While it is a frosty morning, temps next week might get close enough to freezing that we'll probably lose our ground cover of snow.  Still think we'll have a white Christmas.  Any precipitation this time of year will be snow and a bright fresh coating over everything will be festive.
