Picked up a reminder call at 5:00 that there was a Friends of the Library meeting at 6:00. Since the library is currently sans librarian, figured I'd better make this meeting. Applications for a new librarian are still open until Friday. The Library Board has already received some applications so they are hopeful to have a new librarian in place soon. Old business included the second annual Great Mouse Race. The group decided to put on another one next year and I asked if we could include other races that day. "What did you have in mind?" the president asked. "Earthworm races." I suggested and gave a quick synopsis of how it would work. "How do you tell one worm from another?" asked someone. A bit shocked, I responded. "A person knows their own worm!" I hadn't realized that was a funny but I guess it was. Still don't know if we are going to race worms next year.
