The sun rose as a large red globe. I put it down to fog on the horizon. I noticed again how red the sun was at sunset and that it had a ring around it. The glow might be caused by the wild fires in Canada putting smoke into the air. The smoke from the forest fires gets picked up by high level winds and dropped here. It's happened other years and I did smell wood smoke yesterday. Watched the local FOX news station to see if they mentioned it this morning. They didn't but I was surprised to see the weatherman from the NBC news station that I usually watch. Tonight another one of the NBC weatherman was on the FOX station. I checked on-line and from what I can see the meteorologists are employed by NBC and loaned to FOX. The FOX and NBC stations broadcast their news in different time slots so it works for all involved.
