White-faced Meadowhawk dragonfly
I got an e-mail notice from the library that a book I had ordered from another site was now on the Hold Shelf. The librarian chuckled when she saw me come in. "You have something waiting." she announced. "I knew it was for you even before I checked it in." I was momentarily puzzled until she picked up two thick DVD cases and a book w/ a rubber band around them all. This packet was "Forensic History: Crimes, Frauds, and Scandals" from the Great Courses series. I've talked about other Great Courses I've checked out of the library before on the blog (Decisive Battles, Japan, ER Medicine, Middle Ages, etc.) - they are basically videotaped college courses given by professors well-known in their field. The librarian had picked on my predilection either because I check a lot of them out or I'm the only person that checks them out. No worries that anyone else will find out - there is an unwritten confidentiality rule of library-client privilege.
