Rain all day. I finished the book I'd been reading. By three o'clock, the dog and I were restless. We jumped into the car and drove to the nearest McDonald's for a latte. It would be both a pick-me-up and warmer-upper. Got home and started doing some housework. Well, tried to. The kittens woke up when we got home and wanted some diversion. If I picked up anything one or the other cat was leaping to try and grab hold of it. Dunder pulled down a jacket I had hanging from a peg in the foyer and pulled the cushion out of one shoe. Blitzen pulled down the dish towel that I hang from the stove's handle. It became almost a game. I'd replace the towel and she'd pull it back down again. I tried to put a new runner under the TV in the living room but both cats insisted on "helping" me do it. Anything placed on a flat surface seemed to be an anathema to them and it had to be pushed off and onto the floor. I finally resigned myself to the idea that I'd need to wait until the kittens fell asleep again. I sat down in a chair, sipped my latte, and watched 'Murder in Paradise'. The cats busied themselves w/ their toys. By the end of the show I had finished my coffee and both cats were asleep in my lap. I carefully moved them and got up. Thank goodness for naps.
