As you know, Curious George is one of my favorite TV shows. This week they ran an episode about a whistle-pig. Whistle-pig turns out to be the western U.S. term for a woodchuck (which in the East is called a groundhog.) Anyway, in this episode of Curious George, they made it sound like a woodchuck makes a kinda whistling song. Now, I have never sat out on my deck and said, "Listen, isn't that a woodchuck singing?" so I didn't understand what they were talking about. Since Curious George isn't meant to be a nature show, I gave them some latitude on this one. On Groundhog's Day though the BBC cleared it all up for me. The term "whistle-pig" was given to woodchucks because they give a sharp distress whistle when alarmed. As I later told my sister, after that I decided to go back to bed. I'd already learned something that I didn't know before that I wanted to remember for a long,long time. What more could one ask of a day?

You made a big impression on your nieces when they were young. They still talk about "what did they learn today that they want to remember for a long, long time".
