White Birch

The walk today was one of the long ones. Good weather - slight breeze, some sun, cool temp. Indy and I started out on a path and just kinda kept going. About half way along the path, I heard a vehicle and my neighbor came around the corner w/ his 4-wheeler. He stopped and I was able to ask him some stuff I'd been meaning to talk to him about. There's a little white oak growing on a fence line between us that had to come out. I asked him if he could move it to my meadow. Funny thing is he was thinking the same thing - just was going to take it to a different spot. After going over those type of things, we switched to politics. Fortunately, he got a call that the repair guy would be at his house in 20 minutes to work on his hot water heater so we cut the rest of the conversation short. Indy was anxious to be going anyway. She was having fun scaring up grouse, squirrels, deer, and I believe from her bark, one bear. A little over two hours later we were back home. Sat outside on the deck for a while - a little unwilling to give up the outdoors quite yet.
