I got cow 1268 "Humbug" this morning to milk. (I don't know why Carol named her that - assume she was born around Christmas?) I was surprised to see her tail had been plaited and tied w/ a bow made from a plastic glove at the end. Must have been done by one of the milkers last night. I wasn't so surprised that someone could do it - most cows go into a Zen thing while being milked and don't mind being fussed w/. Nor was a surprised that someone would do it - I'm a firm believer in finding fun at work. No, what impressed me was someone would find the time to do it. While milking isn't a difficult job it does require constant motion if you want to finish in 5 hours.
