A statewide birdathon today. I like this count much better than the worldwide one earlier in the year. In the winter I can find only those hardy birds that have adapted to the harsh winters here. Now all of the summer birds are back and nesting. I haven't participated other years since I've had to work library on those days and had other plans afterward. Turns out the library volunteer for today can't make it so I'm filling in again (worked the 1-5 shift last night for another volunteer). I'm hoping for a long walk w/ Indy this afternoon and maybe we can get a decent count then.
