Whitebanded Crab Spider on Bulbous Buttercup
Almost freezing last night but the sun was out this morning, the landscape a lush green, and the birds were singing. I picked up a mocha and a latte and went to visit Aunt June at the Nursing Home. June has dementia and, as we like to say, everyday is a brand new day to her. She can be full of surprises and this morning I found her in someone else's room giving an animated talk to their wall. She happily broke off her conversation though to go w/ me. We left the confines of her ward and went looking for food to filch. There is an unguarded jar of cookies in the assisted-living section so we headed there first. Found a table near the windows (it's still too cold to dine al fresco) and I maneuvered June's wheelchair so she could look outside. Then we sipped coffee and daintily munched on our stolen goodies. A beautiful spring "brand new day" for both of us.
