Daylilies

My sister started it. Connie said she was going to make the usual Easter meal. That got me thinking, "What is traditional Easter fare?" Probably not hasenpfeffer. I see ads for ham this time of year, but Jesus was celebrating Passover just before the Crucifixion and Resurrection so why would a meat considered unclean by the Jews become a food associated w/ Easter? Deviled eggs, from their name, seemed contraindicated. Not chicken w/ all of the candy Peeps and pictures of fluffy baby chicks abounding. All I could think of as fitting for Easter was Carrot Cake.

I am going to pass the buck to our mother. Seems like we had everything she used to make except that yummy apple salad with the cooked dressing. That was my favorite! Oh...and the sweet potatoes! She was just the best cook and baker.
