Hat display at the library

Storms went through here Wednesday night. I'd just gotten home from bowling when I heard a pop, a lightning burst, and the power went out. Found my cache of flashlights. Called the electric company to make sure they knew we had no power and went to bed. I had set the alarm clock on my phone so I woke up on time. Still no lights so I called the electric company again. "No," they said, "We restored your power hours ago. Are your neighbor's lights on?" I looked out and the Dearhamer's yard light was shining. "Yes." I said. "How about the neighbor's on your side of the road?" they asked. "Can't see any neighbor's on my side of the road." I replied. That dumbfounded them for a moment. "I'll put in a new ticket for you." they said. Fortunately, I'd laid out my clothes for the day before I went bowling. Washed up and brushed my teeth w/ bottled water. Figured they had fixed the transformer hit by the lightening but there is a secondary transformer in a big green box by the house that they probably missed w/ all of outages that night.   Oh well, had been meaning to clean out the freezer and refrigerator anyway.

Love the hat display.
I have many, many old hats that belonged to my late mother-in-law, Elizabeth. I take them out an look at them once in awhile. Such a more genteel time and I think we should all think about wearing hats again.
