Last Year's sedum
Indy had a good time on the walk today. She chased a harrier across a field. The harrier flew low to the ground so she thought this was great fun. Something had passed part of our path recently - she would stop and smell certain stems or the ground - think it was a band of turkeys. The ground was soft enough to start digging a hole near the fenceline. In the woods she found the deer leg she had buried the week before, carried it a bit, and then cached it in a pile of leaves (no wonder her breath smells that way). Almost home she was on the trail of another varmit when I called her to come into the house. She popped up her head and when she saw I was serious came running (though I swear I could hear her growling for having to give up the hunt.)
