It makes no sense to me to listen to a rebuttal of the president's State of the Union speech each year. The constitution requires the president to inform the congress periodically on the "state of the union". There is nothing that says people opposing his ideas should also give a speech. This year was worse than usual. We had a GOP rebuttal, a Tea Party rebuttal, a GOP rebuttal given in Spanish, and another one on YouTube. I'd be interested in a rebuttal from Russia or China ... maybe. All I can say is I really like the State of the Union speeches no matter which president is giving them. They have never failed to put me right to sleep.
