-10 degrees when I went to work on Friday. After the cows are finished milking we dip the teats again before sending them back to the barn. Carol, the dairy owner, asked that today we wait 30 seconds after post-dipping them and then wipe the teats off. The 30 seconds gives the dip time to impart it's final protection and the extra wipe off keeps the teats from possible frostbit before the dip can dry on the walk back. As I drove over the rivers on the way home I saw beautiful rime ice on the trees along the banks. Seems there is a silver lining in most adversities - just have to look for it.
Thought I would put some family pics out for the holiday. This is from the family reunion at my place in June.
