Autumn produce

I've never had to look for health insurance before but next year Honeywell is dumping it's retirees off the company policy. I checked out the federal website on Sunday and realized there were a lot of terms I didn't know. Did some research and today I tackled it again. While I would say that the inefficiencies of the website would never be tolerated in a business environment, I'm guessing that when dealing w/ the public at large, there are reasons for the myriad of screens one has to paw through. I finally got confirmation that my application had been sent. However, the form also said that the estimated date my insurance policy would take effect was Feb. 1, 2015. My old insurance ends on Dec. 31st. I considered holing up in my house for the month of January (actually an appealing thought in the dead of winter) but opted to call the insurance company's hotline. Their rep said he didn't know why the federal website would say that. If my check was received before Dec. 15th, their policy would start Jan. 1st. Felt so good having the whole insurance thing pretty much done that I cut a piece of apple pie, put some ice cream on it, warmed up some coffee, and put my feet up. Life is good.
