Cazoom
Yesterday was State Fair Day. My friends and I got there at 6 a.m. when the gates opened. Checked out the fish and ducks in the outside DNR ponds, the adjoining wildflower plantings and then headed out to find breakfast. We found a place featuring new fair foods - Juicy Lulu, Breakfast Taco, and Cheese corn fitters. Happened to see Greg and Linda walking by - former Honeywell co-workers (you never know who you will run into at the Fair) - and caught up on their travels. It was off then to watch stock dog trials in the Coliseum. Three sheep are let loose in the arena and the handler sends the dog to bring the sheep through a series of obstacles and eventually into a pen. Ate some cashew turtle candies while we watched. Afterwards we checked out the Pig and Cattle barns where Kathy won a contest on "How much do you know about cows" so I bought the pronto pups. Wandered along looking at different displays sipping our raspberry malts from the Dairy Building. At the Horticulture Building we split up for awhile. I bought felafels and wandered through the Creative Arts and Education buildings. We all met up at the Pet Building and watched the Australian Shepard show. Cream Puffs, Potato Skins, and mango-on-a-stick later we decided it was time to go home. That's a quick synopsis of eating our way through 13 hours of State Fair.
