After my little vacation it was back to work this morning. Found out the herdsman had gall bladder surgery. She will be out of work for awhile. The parlor wasn't scrubbed on Monday - they decided to save that chore until I got back. (Since I used to scrub the parlor all on my own I didn't understand why it wasn't done but Carol seemed to be a bit overworked this morning so I didn't press the issue.) Carol and Eric also decided to change a couple of procedures - different post and pre dip; leaving a quarter of the towels unwashed. Therefore, I was careful to put the right dip in the right cups and to leave a bunch of dirty towels at the end of milking for the next shift to wash (the guys on second shift aren't happy w/ this change). I don't know what else happened while I was gone but I did overhear Carol tell Juanita that milking was going a lot faster than yesterday. Maybe I don't want to know.
