I stood on a hill looking over the open meadow that stretched toward the swamp. There were patches of bergamot here and there. Not like last year where the entire valley had been awash w/ the purple flowers. Every year is a little different. Conditions are perfect for some flora and fauna and they flourish. This is the year for the very poisonous water hemlock. I've never seen so many and such large specimens. On the plus side, it's definitely not a tick year - I've never had more than 7 on me after a walk. If only every year could be like that!
