Cleavers
Lorry (a/k/a #543) is getting an award. She went over 300,000 pounds of milk in her lifetime. She is in a rarefied group of cows in the world that have made that milestone. She has certainly done her part in being a very consistent milker, resistant to mastitis, and easily bred. The farm owners have done their part in working to give her a pleasant environment, plenty of good food and clean water, and reacting to any health problems that arise. She's 12 years old this year and, I must admit she is a favorite of mine. I will be very sad the day she leaves the dairy for greener pastures. Of course, there's always the possibility I'll leave before her.
