Part of my duties as a library volunteer are to date, stamp, and barcode new books before they are added to the stacks. Tonight there were twenty or so Harlequin romances. Since it was a slow night, I read some of the teasers on the back covers and soon realized there seemed to be a theme: pregnant heiress meets cowboy; cowboy and girlfriend head back to Wyoming to escape hired killers; pretty pop star jumps on back of cowboy's Harley to get away from paparazzi; cowboy is in love w/ female ranch owner; injured ballerina goes home to convalesce and falls for cowboy; out-of-town bridesmaid has fun w/ cowboy groomsman; cowboy vampire seduces reporter. Instead of putting these books in w/ the other Harlequins, the thought did pass my mind to put them in the Westerns section. However pretty sure all of those men coming in for their Zane Grey fix wouldn't appreciate it.
