Not to worry, just a normal sunrise. The shape of the sun in this picture is caused by calm cold atmospheric conditions. The light from the bottom part of the sun is coming through an especially dense layer of atmosphere. It appears distorted and discolored. The top part of the sun's light is coming from above that layer. The warping of the sun's image is commonly referred to as the Chinese Lantern effect but this morning's sun looked more like a mushroom cloud after a nuclear explosion. Since the sun's energy actually does come from the collision of hydrogen atoms, it is one big hydrogen bomb. Picture seemed apropos.

After using the term hydrogen bomb you probably have picked up NSA as a viewer. They tend to key off these terms. Come to think of it so am I now. Hi NSA.
