A picture from my friend, Kathy Novey.
The 1 to 2 inches of snow forecast became over 5 inches of white fluffy. On the way home from work I kept the car in front of me in sight, hoping he had some idea where the lane was. Plow drivers "wing out" the roads when they have time. They extend their plow out to the side as far as possible to push snow piles into the ditches. That creates space for snow to be pushed after the next storm. Problem is that the road looks wider than it actually is. In close to white-out conditions, it's difficult to tell the road from the non-road areas. On the plus side, driving becomes a real adventure.
