Fireplace

The boss said it was 26 degrees below zero when we started milking this morning. He figured it would drop to -30 before sunrise. He also told me milking in a t-shirt and jeans in this cold was just wrong. (I did have two pair of silk long-johns on underneath but decided sharing that info bordered on TMI). No post-dip for the cows - we wanted them as dry as possible as they walked back out to the barn. This afternoon I had errands, so went into the closet to get my anorak. I rarely even bring it out but figured if I didn't wear it for -20 (it had "warmed" up by the time I finished work), just how much colder was I waiting for?

Today the high was 6 and it felt okay without the wind. I must be getting acclimated after the last two days with below zero temps.
